On 24 January 2017 I was Invited to speak at a Business Sundowner organised by a new body, Access Indonesia Australia, and the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Perth, Western Australia. The theme was Bilateral Competence in Indonesia Australia Business Partnership. To me, Indonesia and Australia relationship topic has become like a broken record in my ears. It’s discussed in many conferences, summits, seminars, lectures, etc. We also found it in lots of articles in the media. Year after year. On the surface everybody seems to understand and agree how important it is. Do they?
Inspired by the infographic created by Yang Liu, to convey culture differences, I recreated and adapted it to visualise the culture differences between Australia and Indonesia since there are so many similarities. Yang Liu is an artist and visual designer who was born in China and lives in Germany since she was 14. She cleverly shared her first hand experience on the differences between the two cultures first-hand with minimalistic yet sharp visualizations.
