The ABU Popular Song Contest(Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union) is an annual event organized by the broadcasting stations of the Asia-Pacific region to encourage the writing of pop songs among composers in Asia Pacific region.
The ABU Popular Song Contest 1987 was held on 26 September 1987 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Elfa Secioria and Wieke Gur. represented Indonesia with their composition,”Ayun Langkahmu”, sung by Jopie Latul.
In 1989 Elfa Secioria and Wieke Gur. once again represented Indonesia with another composition,”Pesta”(Party), performed beautifully by Elfa’s Singers and won 2nd Best Song Award.
